Mostly I write about monsters or fairy tales (same thing, lots of times). At times I add sex to the mix. I don't shy away from gore, but I'm more interested in the psychological side of horror - getting into people's heads and seeing how much fortitude they've got, what makes them break and what makes them brave.
Which really isn't that far from Theda, after all.

zombies had burst through the front door into their home. June didn’t recognize the first to hold her down and clamp a drooling mouth upon her shoulder, biting off the first chunk of flesh. But she did recognize the small face tearing into her ankle—he’d been in one of her older son’s classes.
She’d been so confused—hadn’t he died in a car accident?

And in the end, it turned out that he knew even less about himself than he did Jane. For example, he'd never have believed he could kill another human being. But there she lies on the floor at his feet, body ripped apart. Just like Jane. Like Lucy.

I write emotional, frequently angsty stories about men in love with other men. I like passionate events and no safety nets, and that means I don't always want the reader to be certain that everything will be okay in the end. I like to put my characters through the wringer, exploring their limits, and I like to write them as falling so hard for someone they have a hard time dealing with the impact on their emotions because of it.
Sometimes I put my characters in pretty dark places. And dark is where Klaudia comes in.
